Man was killed and his wife suffered serious injuries off the moving Swatantra Senani Express train: ALLAHABAD

ALLAHABAD/LUCKNOW: A middle-aged man was killed and his wife suffered serious injuries when they were thrown off the moving Swatantra Senani Express train reportedly by the train ticket examiner(TTE) for travelling in a reserved compartment despite having general unreserved tickets.

Reports said that the incident took place sometime after the train left Allahabad junction on Wednesday morning.

Reports of the incident sent the
Government Railway Police (GRP) officials into a tizzy as they failed to find a single factor related to the mishap, right from the victim to an eye-witness, till they eventually found out late on Thursday evening that the incident had taken place but in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

GRP authorities in Allahabad feigned ignorance about any such incident taking place under their jurisdiction. "We have checked with everyone who could know about it, but to no avail," said a senior officer talking to TOI on Thursday afternoon. By late evening, however, the officials stated that the incident had taken place in Muzaffarpur. As per reports, Ramsewhar Mandal and his wife Phulki Devi of Sahasra were travelling on the train with a general unreserved ticket for Allahabad-Bhagalpur journey.
