New Moon mission developed by ISRO

As house Commission, the country's high policymaking body on house affairs, met against the backdrop of the Antrix-Devas spectrum controversy, a surprise announcement was created.

The commission has approved the proposal for a joint moon mission between ISRO and Jet Propulsion Laboratory, a premier yankee agency.

The mission referred to as Moonrise is slated for launch in 2016 and currently it's for NASA to require the ultimate decision on the proposal.

"NASA has sought a proposal for moonrise mission. Jet Propulsion laboratory may be a pioneer in planetary exploration visiting Mars and Venus and if it seeks Indian partnership it's creditable," said K Radhakrishnan, Chairman, ISRO.

This move comes barely 2 months when larger house cooperation came up in talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and US President Barack Obama.

Moonrise, which can be launched from yankee soil, hopes to orbit the moon, land there, and produce back nearly one kg of moon rock for more analysis. India has proposed to relinquish a satellite the same as Chandrayaan-1.

Till a couple of weeks ago, ISRO was listed on the dreaded Entity List and therefore the US shunned shut contact. however when Chandrayaan-1 helped realize water on the moon, currently a brand new Indo-US house bonhomie is about to bloom on the parched moon surface.
