Libya’s Qadhafi hometown surrounded by Libyan forces
Libya: Libya’s revolutionary forces have entered a siege into the Muammar Qadhafi, the hometown of Sirte to wear down their loyalist forces inside.
The soldiers and fighters at Qadhafi’s hometown had set up with new roadblocks and checkpoints all over. In addition, they posted snipers at the key spots of Qadhafi on Sunday.
The revolution started after a heavy push by the fighters into the edge of the downtown which failed to dislodge Col. Qadhafi’s men inside Sirte on Saturday. There were seven fighters killed and nearly 150 were injured in bust of street battles with Col.Qadhafi’s men.
Last month the revolutionaries took Tripoli to effectively end Col. Qadhafi’s rule and letting him to hide. But his loyalists still hold Sirte, along with Bani Walid and pockets in south Libya.
