A Space Module introduced by China

The Long Marach-2FTI, a carrier rocket is planned for launching the Tiangong-1 on Thursday and been fueled on Wednesday, reports a Spokesperson from China. In the rocket series of Long March-2, the Long March-2fti is said to be the latest model features most powerful thrust force, states a spokeswoman Wu Ping at a press conference in Jinquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.

Mr. Wu says, A 52 metre long accompanied by a payload to low Earth orbit of 8.6 tonnes, provided with more than 170 improvements for the Long March-2FTI. After the failure of Long March-2C rocket’s experimental satellite into the orbit, the modifications paved a successful launch. With the failed Long March-2C’s components engineers conducted a comprehensive technical evaluation and modifications to Tiangong-1 Long March-2F carrier rocket.

Jing Muchun, Chief designer of the Tiangong mission’s carrier rocket system outlines as the Tiangong-1 module is larger than China’s Shenzhou manned spacecraft the Long March-2FTI has a larger nose fairing.
A chief designer says, In order to include larger fuel volume than the Long March-2F model, the rocket’s booster shape has been modified which results in an increased thrust power. China’s Long March rocket series quiet less powerful comparing to the US and Russia used to launch Moon-landing vehicles and space station components in its carrier rockets.

To illustrate, a carrier rocket requires a 20 tones of payload capacity to allow a single part of the International Space Station into low Earth orbit. Jing informed Xinhua at the launch center “A powerful carrier rocket is required as the China’s manned space program aims to build up a space station”
He also added “Research and development on a new fuel in liquid-oxygen-kerosene is being progress as the carrier rocket burns fuel”
